The world’s second largest domain registrar, Namecheap has announced a new solution to provide better protection for valuable domains. It prevents domain settings from being changed by anyone other than the owner. The new solution focuses primarily on removing the human threat, to protect valuable domains from hacking and other possible cyber threats with additional layers of protection.
Domain Protection
Namecheap’s new solution combines various domain protection services in one product to provide protection against cyber threats and security risks. In Domain Vault, only a very small, controlled and specialized customer service unit will be able to access personal data. It also offers customers continuous monitoring and immediate priority attention. Key features of Domain Vault include:
- Locking the register: Prevents name servers from being changed and domains from being transferred.
- Specialized customer support: Only a small team of specialists fully dedicated to customer service will work on Domain Vault.
- Reduce the human threat: Less than 1% of the customer service team will have access to Domain Vault customer data, greatly reducing the risk of human error leading to fraud.
- Access to the VIP security team: 24/7 security monitoring for any DNS changes and immediate access to special security team for any questions or investigations.
- Additional identity check layer: Both human verification and automatic verification are required before vital changes can be made.
